People’s Action Movement
- Improve the individual and thus the people, by laying core emphasis on “character” and “civic sense”.
- Discipline will be the first and foremost attribute of a PAM member.
- Respect for everyone and everything, in addition to civilized and cultured behavior will be the fundamental characteristic of those who walk this path.
- Bring awareness about community living and sensitivity and respect for all other living beings; humans, animals, and plants.
- Rise above sectarianism, ethnicity, language, or origin. Think like one people, one nation.
- Impart the spirit of sacrifice for the longer well-being of the nation. To think beyond the shortest term.
- Make community service an integral part of every member. Every “individual” will be required to perform community service for all citizens. This service will make the “individuals” aware of their responsibilities towards life, and build a spirit of national upbringing. It will also set an example for others to follow. The community service will include:
- Helping the poor, elderly, sick, needy, etc.
- Show kindness to those working hard in poor conditions, e.g. police, sweepers, builders, etc.
- Help keep their neighborhoods clean.
- In the event of a calamity, disaster, or emergency every “individual” will be required to render all possible services and assistance to help the affected people.
- Being part of the movement would mean that every “individual” will obey each and every law, whether written or part of common sense. Under no circumstances will there be a violation in responsible civic behavior, except in case of a security risk, absolute emergency (matter of life or death), or absolute truthful mistake. Examples of this conduct would include:
- Obeying every written and commonly understood traffic law
- Disposing of the tiniest bit of garbage properly
- Getting in a queue, and trying to make a queue even if there isn’t one
- Etc.
- Mentors from within the group will be required to speak at educational institutions to promote positive, constructive, and motivational thoughts.
- Those who reach the acceptance as a full member will wear the logo-pin whenever and wherever possible.
- Members will be encouraged to make efforts for good physical and mental health.
- The overall purpose of this movement is to produce leaders, trendsetters, and role models.
- A system of ranks will be introduced to foster leadership among the group.
- Finally, bring peace and unite humanity by creating love and respect for all creations of nature.
